After 16 straight weeks, the downtown Brooklyn class celebrated graduation from the WIBO workshop last night. I recommend this program to any and all sorts of entrepreneurs, no matter if you've already been in business for 5 years or 5 months. The classes refresh the things you already know about your business and it most certainly teaches you what you may not know or how to improve any or all aspects of your business. WIBO is non profit, so the most you can pay for the 16 week program is $199. It is such an amazing opportunity. I'm happy to have been part of it and I strongly suggest taking the course of you have any sort of entrepreneurial spirit in you!

Spent all day organizing the inventories for the tradeshow in LV, coming up in 2 weeks. This will be the 3rd Pool tradeshow I will be attending and just love getting ready for it... (Thank God for Lindsay's help.) We plan to attack hundreds of pairs of swirls tomorrow, which means hours of getting our guns in gear (hammer, hammer, hammer...). This is only about a third of what still needs to be made for the show. Soooo... I won't be seeing any of you until I get back!

You all may not know this very special man, Mr. Fred Buscaglione. I was introduced to his music while I was interning at the jewelry school in Florence, a whole 6 years ago now. Ever since, when I am home working (especially late at night) with an extra large glass of Nero D'avola, I put on Fred and practice my broken Italian while I sing along. I love this stuff. He's been compared to the Frank Sinatra of Italy. I know him as a very special voice in my life and this song in particular, "Carina" I adore. I hope you all like. Just click on this title. Enjoy!

We had a killer opening day at the Hester Street Fair this past weekend. The LES was blessed with plentiful sunshine, and we were thrilled to be outside again! The tents were bustling with a whopping 11,000 shoppers. We even got some good press, check out the article on Racked, below. And our dear Jessica, trooper that she is, braved the rain on Sunday to keep the vibes going all weekend long.

We're gearing up for my favorite time of the year for jewelry, and that means hundreds of new castings and a whole new collection will debut in just a few weeks. Time for skin to show and jewelry to glimmer.

We are thrilled that our team is expanding! 3 new employees start this week, they are all fabulous girls excited to talk about this year's pieces.

Some Serious Stones

I've decided to step it up a notch and work with some precious gem stones, beautiful, mysterious, insanely gorgeous ones. The collections debuting in Spring 10, (just a few weeks away) will show my life long infatuation with gemstones... but, for real. We've invested in some natural rubies, star sapphires, and emeralds... they are the most absurd green I've ever seen and couldn't be more thrilled to see. A lot of them are from an area called Yenti, also a mine in North Vietnam. A friend of mine actually worked with the people there and hand picked all of them, and then we chose our favorites from the lot. We're super excited.

We're gearing up for the POOL trade show in Las Vegas February 16th -18th.
Find us in the cash and carry section along with some of my favorite flea vendors treading out to Vegas to get bi-coastal. Our studio is crazed with inventory and new merchandise.
Getting ready to be inspired by other indie designers and buy some new gear...
last August I found out about ready to wear designer ORANGE and totally scored at ROJAS's sample sale. I just can't wait to get my hands on this stuff again. We're debuting 2 new collections in Vegas only, stay tuned for Brooklyn debut to follow. I love west coast shoppers!

We'll be at the Brooklyn Flea's indoor winter spot through March.
Come check out the beautiful old Williamsburg Savings Bank, we're in spot #66.
There's a ton of amazing stuff there. I've done quite a bit of shopping there the past few weeks since we opened the weekend of January 9th and 10th. I scored amazing vintage buttons from Paula, one of my favorite vintage vendors. I took some shoes, brooches and cufflinks from FOUND by Susan Walker, she has such an eye.
You have to check out my favorite skin care line, Australian scent. There's nothing like scrubbing with chocolate-peppermint soap in the am.

The antique/vintage selection is plentiful. There's a handmade section too. We're open 10 - 5 every Sat. and Sunday.

I have very special Valentine's gifts this season. Come check it out. I'll be living there every weekend through the winter.

The Broolyn Flea is moving its "Gifted" holiday market into Manhattan, taking over the former Tower Records Annex at E. 4th St. and Lafayette St. in Noho. What to expect when the Brooklyn Flea takes Manhattan? An alternative to big-box stores for one. An affordable option to high-priced boutiques for another. Way better stuff than blah gift markets—for sure.

Gifted will feature a rotating cast of 50 vendors from Friday, November 27, to Thursday, December 24. Complete dates are as follows: Fri-Sun, Nov. 27-29; Wed-Sun, Dec. 2-6; 9-13; every day, Dec. 16-24.
